BEGINNING June 1, 2020, all Cebu City government employees can return to work except for senior citizens.
This is according to City Administrator Floro Casas Jr., in line with Mayor Edgardo Labella’s order for a gradual return to the “new normal” operations of the City Hall.
Casas said: “We have issued a return-to-work order for our employees. Our objective is to normalize our operation in City Hall.”
He added that health and safety measures will continue to be put in place such as wearing of masks and observing social distancing to protect employees and those who have transactions with the city government.
The City Hall has more than 5,000 casual and regular employees, some of whom have been working from home since the Covid-19 crisis.
However, those who are sick may continue with their work-from-home setup as long as they notify the human resource development office.
Casas said transactions with the different departments under the Office of the Mayor will also be allowed then. (PAC, CCP)
