AN ESTIMATED P2 million worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Thursday evening, May 28.
The operation led to the arrest of Arthuro Geronimo alias “Jojo”, 36, of Purok Villa Esperanza, Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Friday, May 29, Geronimo was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to police undercover at about 10:55 p.m.
Police recovered from Geronimo’s possession suspected shabu in four big plastic sachets and one knot-tied ice wrapper, and P34,000 marked money.
Pico said the recovered suspected shabu, weighing 120 grams, has an estimated market value of P2,040,000.
He said Geronimo was identified as high-value target in Bacolod. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.
The suspect is detained at the custodial fail city of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
