Covid-19 cases in Bacolod surge to 14

THE Bacolod City now has a total of 14 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

This was confirmed by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chairperson of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force against Covid-19, after the 36-year-old woman, a resident of Barangay Taculing, was tested positive for the virus Friday, May 29.

Familiaran said the woman, who was tagged as Patient No. 14, was a former frontliner from the Department of Education (DepEd) and is currently an importer/exporter of essential goods.

Patient No. 14 underwent the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) on May 22 and its result was released only Friday.

“She’s asymptomatic with no travel history,” Familiaran said.

He said the City Health Office will conduct contact tracing to determine those who have close contact with Patient No. 14.

“We will check the area and we will trace those who have a close contact with Patient No. 14,” he added.
