Kekert: On-Campus vs. Remote Learning

The Metropolis

THE enhanced community quarantine has posed significant challenges for students who are patiently awaiting a return to normality. Here are some kids who have shared their thoughts as they continue their education in the comfort of their own homes in comparison to being on-campus.

Ema Onda, 11

“I enjoy being on-campus as well as doing remote learning at home. I like attending actual school because it makes me focus better in the classroom and I can be around my friends. I also like learning from home because it gives me the chance to sleep later than usual and not wear uniforms.”

Haruki Unai, 9

“What I like about remote learning is doing online assignments in Math and Science, especially learning with the application IXL, for it gives me the chance to do it at my own pace both slowly and quickly. I think it’s an opportunity for me to improve in areas that I don’t understand.”

Janna Quisumbing, 8

“I am now on my 10th week of remote learning and I feel very happy. I am having a lot of fun in my house doing different activities, where I make sure to plan out my day and have breaks whenever I need one. I feel so thankful for all the teachers who have guided us all throughout and I already feel excited to see everyone at school again when we are allowed back on-campus.”

Lilliana Sasnovski, 6

“I prefer to be on-campus so I can be with my friends and teachers. I also miss being in the school playground!”

Arya Fruelda, 5

“I like to go to school so I can play with my friends and classmates and also meet new ones.”
