P170,000 shabu seized in Barangay Banago

AN ESTIMATED P170,000 worth of shabu was seized in a drug bust by operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on May 30.

The operation led to the arrest of Eugene Sotto, and Reynaldo Ponteras Jr., of Barangay Banago, while their companion Vivian Diaz managed to escape.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Sunday, May 31, Sotto and Ponteras were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 4:45 p.m.

Diaz escaped after she sensed that they were dealing with a policeman.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 13 plastic sachets of shabu, and the P500 marked money.

Pico said Sotto was identified as high value target in Bacolod. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial fail city of Police Station 3 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
