12 new Covid-19 cases in Lapu-Lapu; 1 death

LAPU-LAPU City recorded 12 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Monday, June 1, 2020, according to Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan.

In his Facebook page, Chan said that the patients came from Zone 2, Barangay Buaya (10), Barangay Poblacion (one) and Barangay Mactan (one).

He also revealed that the patient from Barangay Mactan had already passed away.

The city now has a total of 105 Covid-19 cases, 44 recoveries and eight deaths.

Chan has continued to remind his constiuents to always follow Covid-19 precautionary measures even as the city is under general community quarantine.

"Atong ipadayon ang paghugwas sa atong mga kamot, pagsul-ob og facemask sa kanunay ug pagtuman sa social distancing. Atong idungan ang atong tim-os nga pag-ampo ngadto sa labawng makagagahom sa dali nga recovery sa atong mga kaigsuonan nga tua sa atong isolation facilities ug sa mga tambalanan," Chan said.

(Let us continue to wash our hands, wear our face masks and follow social distancing. Let us also include in our prayers the speedy recovery of our brothers and sisters who are currently admitted to health and isolation facilities.)

The Department of Health on Monday recorded 119 fresh cases and 433 late cases of Covid-19 in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 18,638. (JGS)
