LOCKDOWN! How did I spend it? Before I started preparing for my Speechcom English Online, I turned to YouTube for old-time music in between news reports.
Flashback! I remembered the cultural shows and musicales I produced and directed at the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), We Care, Zonta Club, Amcham and Speechcom, and once again, marveled at the talent of the Cebuanos.
The musicales
I did my own excerpts of Broadway plays and adapted them in USJ-R as part of the students’ learning experiences in theatre craft. The performers were the thespians of the Colegio de San Jose–Recoletos/USJ-R Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble and the Allef (Lhuillier) scholars. My references? I saw most of these musicales in London and Broadway, and read the original scripts and repertoires.
