Hall of Justice employee tests positive for Covid-19

THE Cebu City Hall of Justice situated at the Cebu North Reclamation Area will remain closed to the public until June 5, 2020.

This after court officials disclosed that an employee for a private agency contracted by the court tested positive for Covid-19. The employee and 29 others were tested on May 15.

In an announcement posted on his Facebook page, Regional Trial Court (RTC) Cebu City Executive Judge Macaundas Hadjirasul disclosed that the 29 were quarantined inside the building until the results of the swab test came out on May 27.

Hadjirasul said while the Covid-19 positive worker was immediately isolated, the others who tested negative had to continue quarantine for 14 days from May 15 and had to undergo an additional seven-day observation period.

A second Covid-19 test will be conducted on the personnel to determine if they are free of the virus.

Hadjirasul said that in the meantime, the Cebu City courts, both RTC and the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) will continue operation via online filings and video conferencing hearings. (JKV)
