Nocppo awards 8 top performing police stations

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo) awarded eight top police stations in the province Monday, June 1, during its regular Monday flag ceremony.

The awardees are Silay City Police Station as top performing police station for the campaign against illegal drugs; Binalabagan Police Station as Top Performing Municipal Police Station for campaign against illegal drugs; San Carlos City Police Station, Top Performing City Police Station (Campaign against Wanted Person); Murcia Police Station, Top Performing Municipal Police Station (Campaign against wanted person); Victorias City Police Station as Top Performing City Police Station (Campaign against Loose Firearms); La Castellana Municipal Police Station, Top Performing Municipal Police Station (Campaign against Loose Firearms); Sagay City Police Station, Top Performing City Police Station (Campaign against illegal gambling); and Cauayan Municipal Police Station, Top Performing Municipal Police Station (Campaign against illegal gambling).

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police's campaign against illegal gambling continued with 17 people arrested on May 31.

In Bago City, four were arrested for cockfighting, while 10 were also arrested for the same offense in Manapla.

In Silay City, three were also arrested for cockfighting and five in Cadiz City.
