Cops nab 3 persons, seize P361,000 shabu

THREE persons, including a high-value individual (HVI), were arrested, while P361,800 worth of illegal drugs and a firearm were seized in separate operations in Zamboanga City, the police said Tuesday, June 2.

Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested HVI as Benjimar Misuari, 24, who was nabbed by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-9 (RDEU-9) in a buy-bust operation near university around 5:40 p.m. Monday, June 1, on La Purisima Street in Zone II village.

Recovered from Misuari were P346,800 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P2,000 marked money.

Quidilla identified the other two arrested suspects as Adzmer Gustaham, 37, and Benhar Sali, 31.

Seized from Gustaham were P15,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 9:20 p.m. Monday, June 1, on Love Drive in Campo Islam village, Zamboanga City.

Quidilla said Sali yielded a caliber .45 pistol with seven live ammunition and five heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu in a buy-bust in Arena Blanco village.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the three suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
