Cebuana wins silver in online Poomsae Championships

CEBUANA jin Aidaine Laxa had an impressive performance in the confines of her home after winning the silver medal BlackFemale Senior 1 category of the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Online National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships on May 30 and 31, 2020.

Laxa, who represented University of Sto. Tomas (UST), finished second behind fellow UST jin Jocel Lyn Ninobla. Laxa finished with a score of 8.150, while Ninobla had a score of 8.333.

De La Salle University’s Daphne Ching and Mikee Rose Regla settled for bronze.

Both Laxa and Ninobla are members of the Philippine National Taekwondo Poomsae team.

Meanwhile, the Toledo Taekwondo Team (T3) finished with a five-medal haul in two days of action.

T3 bagged two gold medals, a silver and two bronzes.

Maria Avril Nim Rivera nabbed the gold in the Yellow Female 10-11 category, while Valerie Odhelle Patalinjug won the gold medal in the YellowFemale Cadet division.

Giana Arnaiz, in the meantime, bagged the silver in the Yellow Female 10-11 category.

T3 finished the second day with bronze medals from Lorraine Fernandez in the Blue Female 9-11 division and Clarrissa Louise Gallego in the Female 9 and below category.

The 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Online National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships is part of the Philippine Taekwondo Association’s online program that was launched due to the Covid-19 pandemic. (EKA)
