BACOLOD City is now enjoying the “new normal” under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) already allowed several sports undertakings provided that minimum public health standards shall be strictly enforced.

Among those approved sports activities and exercises included non-contact sports such as golf, tennis, table tennis, badminton and swimming.

Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chairperson of Bacolod City IATF against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), earlier said they will follow the guidelines issued by the national IATF.

“For Bacoldonons, enjoy doing exercises and play your favorite sports but observe minimum public health standards such as wearing of face mask, physical distancing, and personal hygiene,” said Familiaran.

The Bacolod City IATF chairman also reminded everyone that during the MGCQ, the city will strictly enforce the preventive measures against Covid-19 like the wearing of mask, social distancing, and curfew, among others.

“We are asking the cooperation of everybody to follow the health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus," Familiaran added.

Bacolod City, including the whole of Western Visayas, was placed under MGCQ from June 1 to 15, 2020.
