Bacolod DSSD awaits instruction for 2nd tranche release of SAP

THE Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) in Bacolod City is still waiting for the final instruction from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Western Visayas for the release of the second tranche of the cash assistance under social amelioration program (SAP) of the government.

Pacita Tero, head of DSSD-Bacolod, said yesterday Bacolod City is included in the second tranche of SAP, but they are still waiting for the final instruction for the DSWD-Western Visayas.

She said the DSWD along with the local officials in Western Visayas including Mayor Evelio Leonardia will hold a virtual conference today to discuss the release of SAP.

“We will wait for the final instruction on how to release this because during the first distribution of SAP, there were several complaints and several residents were not complying the health protocols,” she added.

Last month, the City Government released the SAP grant of P6,000 each to 98, 143 beneficiary-families, or a total of P588, 858,000 from 61 barangays in the city.

The DSWD has set the SAP grant at P6,000 per month per qualified family for two months, to be doled out in two tranches .

The qualified families will receive a total of P12,000 within two months, as mandated by Republic Act (RA) 11469 or the “Bayanihan to Heal as One” Act.
