Vintage bomb, ammo found in Tacloban

AN UNEXPLODED vintage bomb and ammunition were discovered by a worker in Tacloban City Thursday, June 4.

Police said the four rounds of 57 mm projectile and one link of 50 caliber ammunition were excavated at the backyard farm in Jan Rey Subdivision, Barangay 77-Marasbaras, Tacloban.

Reynaldo Masamon, a private employee and resident of said place, reported the incident to Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO)-Police Station 1 around 4:50 p.m. Thursday.

Personnel from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) in the region immediately arrived at the area and examined the vintage bomb and ammunition for proper disposition.

Lieutenant Jesus Enriquez and Staff Sergeant Franz Benedict Lacambra of the TCPO Explosive Detection Unit also identified the said vintage bomb and ammunition. (SunStar Philippines)
