BACOLOD City Councilor Renecito Novero, a Christian preacher himself and currently the head of the Quarantine Center Action Team of the City Government of Bacolod, went out of his way to share the words of God to the "quarantined" overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) by providing them a copy of the Bible containing the New Testaments which he considered as a source of spiritual booster to those in isolation.
Novero, a known Christian preacher who regularly evangelizes at the Bacolod Evangelical Church, once served as the former National Chaplain, National President, and International Trustee of Gideon International in the Philippines.
His wife Grace is currently the National President of the Gideon Auxiliary Association in the Philippines.
The Christian couple continues to serve as a messenger of God as part of their calling, thus they initiated the distribution of the bibles to the quarantined sector.
Novero distributed those bibles at various hotels and inns which were turned into quarantine hubs for returning OFWs and locally stranded individualism (LSIs).
He felt the need to provide these bibles to those who are being quarantined and in isolation to help uplift their spiritual wellbeing.
Amidst the uncertainties and confusions, the bible is a source of spiritual booster for the needed divine protection, guidance, blessings of peace and provisions from God where the reader can just simply look for the verses that can help him or her find solace while in isolation and away from their family.
Prayers can do wonders of giving us peace and protection.
He urged the OFWs and LSIs to continue reading the bible even if they are through with the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.
