Male helper yields gun, grenade, drugs in Baybay City

POLICE arrested a 40-year-old male helper for alleged possession of gun, grenade, several ammunition, and illegal drugs in Baybay City Wednesday, June 3.

The suspect was identified as Florence Dela Cruz, married, and resident of the city.

He was arrested by virtue of search warrant dated June 2, 2020 that was issued by Judge Carlos Arguelles of Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 14 in Baybay.

Confiscated from the suspect were one unit caliber .45 pistol with serial number 888631; one piece steel magazine assembly for caliber. 45; seven rounds live ammunition for caliber .45; one MK2 handgrenade; and one piece inside holster for caliber .45.

Also confiscated from him were seven pieces small transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; 14 pieces empty plastic sachet with suspected shabu residue; 22 pieces empty transparent plastic sachet; and one piece of plastic straw used as improvised scoop.

The operatives were led by Lieutenant Colonel Alberto Renomeron, chief of Baybay Police Station; Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Señal, head of 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st LPMFC); and Lieutenant Colonel Marvin Pedere of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Leyte.
