Capitol to provide employment for Covid-19 affected workers

THE Provincial Government is generating jobs to help those who lost their jobs because of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said they are currently preparing several programs aimed at helping workers.

He said affected workers can be hired as contact tracers or may even work in the government's infrastructure projects.

He said the Provincial Government is due to conduct a meeting in order to set up how to hire the affected workers.

Following the province's downgrade to a modified general community quarantine, Lacson had already issued an order to all local government units in Negros Occidental to resume their infrastructure projects that temporarily halted due to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.

Last week, Provincial consultant on economic affairs and former 3rd District Representative Alfredo Benitez said the Provincial Government is hiring personnel for its Covid-19 contact tracing division.

Contact tracers are healthcare personnel who track down the close contacts of individuals who tested positive for the virus.
