JOINT team of policemen and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested a young drug personality in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.
Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Wendell Christine Mijares, 21, of Kabasalan town.
Galvez said Mijares was arrested in an intelligence-driven buy-bust operation around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Purok 7 in Concepcion village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
She said the arresting team seized from the suspect some P40,800 worth of shabu, P3,500 boodle money topped with one genuine P500 bill as marked money and other personal belongings.
Galvez added the buy-bust was launched following surveillance on the illegal activities of the suspect, who was detained.
She said formal charges are set to be filed against the suspect. (SunStar Zamboanga)
