CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government of San Fernando on Friday, June 5, 2020, vowed to sustain its “zero Covid-19 infection status,” stop local transmission of the disease to “flatten the curve” and protect Fernandinos from the virus.

Most recent data from the City Health Office shows a total of 19 infections with 18 confirmed recoveries and only one fatality since the city disclosed its first infection on March 14. Records confirmed that 14 from the total number are considered health facility-related infections, while the remaining five are community-acquired.

Its remaining Covid-19 confirmed case has recovered recently, putting a stop to active Covid-19 cases as well as local community transmission.

To achieve its goals of further curbing local transmission and ultimately flatten the curve, the city government is boosting its facilities and implementing more safety and health protocols according to guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Department of Health.

Despite its zero active case status, the City Government reminded Fernandinos to continue observing health protocols to ensure everyone's safety.

Residents here are reminded to stay at home if no essential activities are to be done outside, practice social distancing, wear masks and wash hands often.
