INDIVIDUALS who want to cross the borders outside Davao City can now secure travel authority from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) to be allowed to travel and pass through the checkpoints.

DCPO announced Friday, June 5, that it is now issuing travel authority for locally stranded individuals who will be traveling outside of Davao City going to other provinces or regions.

DCPO said those who are interested shall present a certificate from their barangay chairman that he/she has not developed any Covid-19 symptom for the last 14 days.

They are also required to secure a medical certificate from the City Health Office or district health officer and letter request indicating the following details: Name of the traveler, date of travel, place of origin, place of destination and vehicle to be used with their email address as the approved travel authorization will be sent through email.

Applicants must submit their requirements to the nearest police station or at the DCPO headquarters operations unit for processing.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said in a radio interview Friday that stranded individuals who will be returning to their respective places must know the requirements needed in their provinces.

“I-check ninyo kung unsa ang requirement [sa city] kung asa mo padulong (Check the requirements of the LGUs you are heading to),” Duterte-Carpio said.

She, however, clarified that there are no documents to be asked from individuals who will be entering the city but they will be subject to health screening upon arrival.
