3 LGUs post 41 new Covid cases

THE Cebu City Health Department logged 36 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and eight new laboratory-negative cases on Saturday, June 6, 2020.

The new cases were reported in Barangays Sawang Calero (two), Santo Niño (three), Bulacao (five), Tinago (one), Suba (two), Quiot (one), Sambag 2 (five), Basak San Nicolas (one), Inayawan (two), Tejero (one), Lahug (one), Calamba (two), Cogon Pardo (two), Day-as (one), Sambag 1 (one), T. Padilla (one), Labangon (one), Mabolo (one) and Pahina Central (three).

The eight new laboratory-negative cases were recorded from the Cebu City Jail (three) and Barangays Mambaling (three) and Luz (two).

Cebu City has a total of 2,618 Covid-19 positive patients with 1,566 laboratory-negative or recoveries and 31 deaths.

Mandaue City recorded one new confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and one new recovery on Saturday, June 6, 2020.

According to the Facebook (FB) post of the Mandaue City Public Information Office, the new patient is a 47-year-old male from Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Tabok.

He is admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office personnel have decontaminated the residence of the patient and started contact tracing.

The new recovery is a resident of Barangay Casuntingan.

Mandaue has 307 Covid-19 cases with 41 recoveries and seven deaths.

In the southern town of Minglanilla, four new Covid-19 cases were recorded on June 6.

The first patient is a 55-year-old female frontliner of the City Health Office. She is a resident of Lower Pakigne. A 57-year-old female who lives with her also tested positive for the disease.

The Rural Health Unit said the former is asymptomatic, while the latter has a cough. The two have been placed on home isolation.

The third patient is a 30-year-old woman working in a public hospital in Cebu City. The patient is a resident of Upper Linao.

The fourth patient is a 28-year-old woman from Lower Calajoan and works in Talisay City.

Authorities have conducted contact tracing and disinfected areas where positive patients reside.
