NAKABSAN sa iyang kinabuhi si Kapitan Manolita “Litang” Abarquez, 63, gumikan sa severe pneumonia sud sa ospital sa dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu, Dominggo sa buntag, Hunyo 7.
Si Abarquez usa ka first-termer nga pangulo sa barangay kinsa napili niadtong Mayo 2018 ubos sa Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) ni kanhi mayor Tomas Osmeña.
Wala pa matino kon ang kamatayon ni Abarquez aduna bay kalambigitan sa Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) kinsa nalandig sa ARC Hospital sa Lapu-Lapu sanglit gipaubos siya sa swab test apan wala pay resulta.
Sa alas 2:00 sa hapon sa samang adlaw, ang iyang live-partner nga si Laurencia Neneng Pauya, kinsa sama niya na-admit sa maong ospital, namatay usab.
Apan ang anak ni Litang nga si Apple Abarquez niklaro nga negative sa rapid test ang iyang inahan apan gikuhaan gihapon og swab sample apan wala pa mogawas ang resulta.
Ang pagkamatay ni Abarquez gikasagmuyo sa iyang mga kaubang public servant.
“We do not only lost a great public servant but a wonderful person and a friend,” paghulagway ni ABC President Franklyn Ong.
“May she rest in peace and I hope that she will be placed under the divine shelter of the good Lord as she return to our creator,” paambit ni Mayor Edgardo Labella.
“Cebu City lost a sincere and selfless public servant in the battlefront of the pandemic. A true friend to her people, Kap Litang died untiring and unceasing in the action as a frontliner, being the father of Barangay Poblacion Pardo. We mourn her demise and the loss of a passionate public servant as we pray for her eternal rest,” pahasubo ni Congressman Bebot Abellanos sa south district.
Si Osmeña, sa iyang bahin, nibutyag nga wala dawata sa pito ka ospital si Abarquez hinungdan nga didto nadala sa Lapu-Lapu.
“Litang was rejected by seven hospitals being full and ended up dying in a Lapu-Lapu hospital. This morning I personally tried to get her in the ICU in Chong Hua and there was a waiting list of 4 intubated patients in the emergency ward. Dino and Cobonpue are welcome to sue me for fake news,” padayag sa kanhi mayor.
