Woman stabbed dead for refusing to sell whisky

A WOMAN was stabbed to death by two men after she refused to sell them whisky at Hacienda Vista 1, Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City on Sunday evening, June 7.

Police identified the victim as 50-year-old Evelyn Tamayo.

Based on an investigation conducted by Talisay City police, two suspects identified as 21-year-old Jason Abella, and an individual only identified as "Tolendoy" went to Tamayo's home in order to buy one bottle of whisky.

However, Tamayo reportedly refused to sell them liquor.

The suspects became angry and assaulted Tamayo, stabbing her repeatedly.

The suspects then fled, while Tamayo was rushed to the city's health center where she was declared dead on arrival.

Police are currently conducting "hot pursuit" operations against the two suspects.
