MULTI-TALENTED Token Lizares, recognized as the Charity Diva of Bacolod City, has chosen to celebrate her birthday with the Local Superior of Siervas De Maria of Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City on June 8.
The Local Superior of Siervas De Maria led by Mother Superior Carmen Piña, a group composed of nuns and nurses, offered her a simple birthday celebration which is wrapped by God's love.
The group serves the destitute sector in terms of their medical needs.
Indigent people who could hardly afford to have their basic medical consultation in a hospital are taken care of by these nuns who are nurses themselves, Lizares said.
Lizares has helped them raise funds for the renovation of their medical clinic last year which was damaged.
She was able to raise the needed funds through a raffle project. The nuns and nurses were pleased with the said assistance which is necessary for their daily medical task.
The group always helps the poor get the needed health care. They also visit those sick people who could hardly go out of their houses and take care of them. Just recently, they started to perform diagnostic tests. Somebody also donated an X-Ray machine for their use.
There are a lot of people who can no longer go to the hospital when they get sick but depend on their medical needs from the sisters.
The group also seeks the assistance of some medical doctors when necessary.
Lizares plans to look for benefactors who can help her donate an ambulance as the sisters don't have the means to transport patients from the house to their clinic or to the hospital if their condition demands it.
On the other hand, the sisters shared their heartfelt message to the Charity Diva who considered her as a real person with a good heart. They wished her long life to live, a healthy mind, a healthy body, a lifetime of joy, and peace.
"You are our inspiration to help other people who are in need. We love you," the nuns said.
Indeed, the Charity Diva holds a golden heart who is blessed by God with a golden voice and talent. She has a generous heart.
