MANILA -- Filipino-American fighter Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton bowed to an older Lisa “Bad News” Brown in the WBA Super Featherweight championship at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada.
Brown scored a ten-round unanimous decision by landing more blows and even cut Julation in two places around her eyes.
Judges scored the bout 100-90, 99-91 and 99-92 in favor of the 39-year-old boxer. With the win, Brown improved her professional record to 17 wins, 4 defeats and 3 draws while 29-year-old Julaton slipped to 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
Julaton previously held the World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Association super bantamweight titles.
