Drug suspect killed in buy-bust operation

POLICE have killed a drug suspect who allegedly fought back during a drug bust in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon Wednesday, June 10.

Killed was Valentino Abejo, 33, a resident of Lingion, Manolo Fortich town. He was tagged as number 3 in the provincial drug list of the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and has availed the plea bargaining agreement in Cagayan de Oro City.

The drug bust turned bloody when the suspect allegedly fired his gun after sensing that he was dealing with the police, but the bullet did not come out from the barrel, prompting the anti-illegal drug operatives to return fire.

The suspect sustained a gunshot wound on his chest and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Recovered from the suspect's pocket were 18 sachets of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing around six grams and worth about P41,000, and cash worth P22,700.

Police is set to file drug, illegal possession of gun and attempted murder charges against the slain suspect.
