'Butchoy' makes landfall in Quezon province

TROPICAL Depression Butchoy made landfall over Polillo and Infanta, Quezon Thursday evening, June 11, 2020.

Pagasa, in its 8 p.m. advisory, said Butchoy made landfall over Polillo at 5:30 p.m. and Infanta at 6 p.m.

As of 7 p.m. Thursday, the center of Butchoy was located in the vicinity of General Nakar, Quezon. It was moving west northwest at 15 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gusts up to 75 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal 1 has been hoisted over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, southern portion of Aurora, Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, northern and central portion of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Panukulan, Burdeos, Polillo, Patnanungan, Jomalig) Mauban, Sampaloc, Lucban, San Antonio, Tiaong, Dolores, Candelaria, Sariaya, Tayabas City, Lucena City, Pagbilao, Atimonan, Padre Burgos, Agdangan, Unisan, Plaridel, Gumaca, Pitogo, Macalelon, Lopez, Guinayangan, Tagkawayan, Calauag, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, and Camarines Norte.

Butchoy is forecast to be at 120 kilometers west of Dagupan City Friday afternoon, June 12.
