IN THE wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, a new normal has been created in all industries and we are to adapt to it. As hotels in the city will begin to open their doors soon, here are some of their health and safety guidelines.

Cebu Parklane International Hotel

Parklane’s safety guidelines are in consonance with those issued by the Department of Health and the Department of Tourism, cross-referenced with Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella’s Executive Order 79. All hotel staff have been provided with in-house accommodations since March 25 and even under the general community quarantine, they are not allowed to leave the hotel. Parklane now offers takeout for those who miss dining at Manuel’s Restaurant and Kan-anan.

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu

The hotel has come up with “The Marco Polo Way Covid-19 Safety Protocols and Precautionary Measures.” These include wearing of face masks, foot baths on all entry points, sanitizing of hands and temperature check of every guest and associate and cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces in public spaces and restrooms every two hours. Marco Polo’s well-loved dishes and pastries from Cafe Marco, El Viento and Hai Shin Lou are now available for takeout and are handled meticulously following the hotel’s food safety protocol.

Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu

With its “Culture of Clean,” Quest Hotel’s intensified cleaning guidelines ensure guest safety amid this pandemic. Its airport shuttles will have customized driver-passenger partitions and hand sanitizers and antibacterial wipes. At the hotel, guests will undergo thermal scanning, and a sanitizing footbath mat will be visible at all entry points. UV sanitizers will be used to disinfect and sanitize all guest luggage. Guests can expect sanitary kits with hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and a QR code which they can scan to get Covid-19 prevention guidelines.

Radisson Blu Cebu

The Radisson Blu follows the “Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol,” in partnership with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. Its guidelines include hand sanitizing stations at all entrances, the use of personal protective equipment and protective screens, enhanced and recorded cleaning and disinfection frequency, social distancing in all areas of the hotel, training in local, Centers for Disease Control, or World Health Organization recommendations and health guidelines, reiteration of food safety standards and comprehensive staff training.

Seda Ayala Center Cebu

Breakfast is available and orders for in-room dining are accepted, but all are individually packed for consumption in one’s own guestroom. Meeting and function rooms are for in-house guests only. Meetings and events can be moved, subject to function room availability. Upon entry, guests undergo temperature check, identity verification, and footwear and luggage disinfection. Hand sanitizer is available in no-touch dispensers all around the hotel. There is hourly disinfection of high-risk surfaces and touchpoints using hospital-grade products. Seda is waiving the fees for cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to arrival for bookings until December 30, 2020.
