A FOUR-MONTH-OLD infant is the youngest case of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Eastern Visayas, according to the Department of Health (DOH) in the region Friday, June 12.
The patient arrived from Cebu City and has been tagged as a locally stranded individual (LSI) of Baybay City.
Aside from the infant, 13 other new cases were reported Friday. DOH-Eastern Visayas identified the new 14 confirmed cases as EV-77 to EV-90.
They are part of the 185 sample results from the Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center (EVCRTC) released on Thursday evening, July 11.
From the 14 positive results, one is from Tacloban City who is a 23-year-old male and an LSI from Cebu City. He is currently admitted at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC).
Patients EV-78 to EV-83 are also LSIs from Cebu and residents of Baybay City.
Patient EV-84 is a 30-year-old male overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Baybay City, while Patients EV-85 to 89 are LSIs from Manila and residents of Baybay City.
"All confirmed cases in Baybay City are imported and not a local transmission. Likewise, they are identified and quarantined," said Dr. Minerva Molon, DOH-Eastern Visayas director.
Meanwhile, Patient EV-90 is a 23-year-old male from Bontoc, Southern Leyte, an OFW (seafarer) who arrived last May 31, 2020 via AirAsia Z2 0322.
