DENR seizes illegal logs in Central Luzon operations

ENFORCEMENT teams from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Central Luzon seized illegal lumber in massive anti-illegal logging operations over the weekend.

The operations were led by the DENR field offices, local government units, Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon.

The operations resulted in the seizure of more than 12,000 board feet of illegally source lumber worth over P475,000 and the arrest of six violators.

Criminal charges are now being prepared by the DENR to forest offenders.

Dubbed as "Oplan DENR 33," the activity marks the 33rd founding anniversary of the DENR on June 10, 2020, which mandated the agency to protect and conserve the country's environment and natural resources.
