Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said in a previous radio interview that the City Government is gearing towards digitalization in collecting taxes.

Aside from adding convenience to the taxpayers, Duterte-Carpio said this would also lessen physical transactions in City Government offices, which is highly discouraged as of now due to the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, committee chairperson on finance, ways, and means and appropriations, also encouraged Dabawenyos to gradually pay their taxes for the city to have more funding in the coming years.

Dayanghirang admitted that the city's fund and tax collection is struggling due to the closure of some establishments.
