Talisay City GCQ on Monday

TALISAY City has been placed under general community quarantine starting June 22, 2020, Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr., announced Sunday.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved his appeal to place the city under GCQ from modified enhanced community quarantine.

In his Facebook post dated June 21, Gullas said as the city starts its GCQ status on Monday, he urged his constituents to wear the mask always, observe physical and social distancing, and follow government protocols, adding having been downgraded to GCQ status does not mean the cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) would decrease.

“I’ll be very honest, actually as we start ‘GCQ na murag MECQ’ this Monday, naa gyud mga adlaw na taas ang pagsaka sa ato cases tungod sa atong contact tracing sa atong mga positives these past few weeks. Ubay-ubay baya to. Please don’t quit on this government and our fight against Covid if we see a sudden increase in certain days. This is because of our contact tracing,” said Gullas.

He warned the public there will be days when the cases recorded would reach up to 40 in a single day, but he asked the residents’ cooperation.

“Pero nag tuo ko kung kita tanan magtinabangay atubangon ni, we will get somewhere and find the light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

“Pero dapat dili ta muhimo og blame game. Dili ta mu ingon, ‘ang gobyerno walay klaro.’ Dili sad ta mu ingon ‘ang taw dili patuo, gahi kaau ug ulo,” he added./JJL
