Cervantes: Archbishop warns of ‘darkness descending’

IT’S definitely not yet the end of the world, folks. All credible mystics agree on this. But they are also one in saying that something apocalyptic is “at the door,” that we are in the end of an era that will change the world, to pave the way for the fulfillment of the prophecies on the era of peace amid the triumph of the the Immaculate Heart of Mary and and the coming of the Father’s kingdom as has been prayed for thru two thousand years since the Our Father was taught by Jesus Christ Himself.

Among those who espouse this thought, nay, conviction is Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano who warned recently that messages from Heaven seem to indicate that the world might soon be in for more difficult times (as in apocalyptic times).

Vigano served as the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States from 19 October 2011 to 12 April 2016 after having been Secretary-General of the Governorate of Vatican City State from 16 July 2009 to 3 September 2011. He has become a critic of Pope Francis whom he has accused of covering up sexual abuse allegations against then-cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

ChurchMilitant.com has quoted Viganò as urging Catholics remain diligent in prayer, as he cited messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary in her recent manifestation to an Italian man named Fabio whose small Marian statue wept tears of blood.

“The messages speak of a great apostasy, not dissimilar to the messages that came out of Fatima, Akita and other approved apparitions of the past. In May 1995, the voice told Fabio that the tears of blood were ‘the Blood of Jesus 'shed for all the children who turn away from Her Immaculate Heart, to give you salvation,' ChurchMilitant.com recalled Vigano as saying.

"In Rome, darkness is descending more and more on the Rock that my Son Jesus left you on which to build up, educate and spiritually raise his children," the Blessed Mother was quoted to have told Fabio.

Vigano recalled to LifeSiteNews Viganò the case of Fabio: "On February 6, 1995, shortly after the 13th occasion of [a Marian statue] weeping, a man named Fabio heard an external voice talking to him. His wife Annamaria had already previously been the recipient of revelations in the form of dreams.”

"Little by little," said Viganò, "the entire family gradually became involved in the celestial manifestations." The small statue of the Blessed Mother cried blood 13 times in front of many people.

"Pope John Paul II wanted to venerate and crown her in the Vatican at his apartment, but in secret, so as not to interfere with the investigation of the Diocesan Commission. He later confirmed in writing that this event happened,” Vigano said.

The statue has remained at the church in Civitavecchia in Italy. Eventually, messages not only from the Blessed Mother, but also from Jesus and God the Father were conveyed to Fabio and even his wife.

"The messages strongly call people to return to the sacramental life," Viganò stated.

Vigano said that in her message the Blessed Mother noted that "the world is becoming more and more a prisoner of Satan's darkness and evil, without sparing numerous servants of the Church.”

He said the warning of a great danger for an impending World War III was also mentioned in the messages and that the Blessed Mother has urged us to use "weapons... which are love, prayers, humility, the Rosary and true conversion of your hearts to God through our Heavenly Mother who is holding you all in her arms, close to her Immaculate Heart."

Vigano also said Fabio was told by the Blessed Mother that despite dire warnings, “the way of truth is in the Church of God. The truth comes from God. Do not fear man, fear God. Hope is never lost with God."

Our Blessed Mother was also quoted to have said: "Let yourself be guided in your steps with the simplicity with which a child puts his hand in the Hand of his Father. My Immaculate Heart will transform your sufferings into joys which you accept with true love, for these are trials which the Lord Jesus allows."

Vigano said the messages through Fabio "speak of the need to be nourished with eucharistic Communion, daily if possible; to go to confession regularly on Sundays (a discreet emphasis on the importance of receiving Communion in the state of grace); [and] they invite people to eucharistic adoration.”

He also said the Blessed Mother also cited Other the importance of praying the Rosary- "a powerful weapon to defeat Satan," and the sanctification of daily life by transforming the gestures of family life into acts of love (this reminds us of the ways of St. Therese of LIsieux).

AND SO TO GO ON with our series on holy mystic Maria Simma (d. 2004) whose life was highlighted with frequent encounters with souls from Purgatory in her Sonntag village in Austria. This, culled from writer Nicky Eltz’s interview of her. We start with the question of whether departed relatives can do us favor.

Q: And when we ask them to assist us, is it enough to simply think the request or must we ask it out loud?

Simma: They cannot read our minds, but they do know our suffering and in knowing our suffering they also know many of our true needs and therefore they’ll step in for us. Saying it out loud guarantees that they hear it, but be assured that a whisper is enough. They are always around us, but I would not advise you to start talking to them in public. And, of course, Jesus knows our thoughts, so thinking a request of them silently will also be conveyed to them by the Mother of Mercy....

Q: Is it considered a sin not to believe that souls of the deceased visit us?

Simma: No, it isn’t a sin, but one may not make fun of these things either. It is not an article of faith and therefore it’s not a sin.

Q: What do you think differentiates those people who experience the Poor Souls being nearby from those who do not?

Simma: I think it’s the more sensitive and observant who notice them more clearly than the others.

Q: What is there that we can do to experience them more clearly?

Simma: Oh, pray for them a lot and then also keep oneself as clean as possible. By that I mean in a state of grace and keep our bodies as free as possible from anything that interferes with our clarity. A balanced, healthy and moderate diet and, of course, no drugs or excessive alcohol. And fasting too helps a lot in this regard.

Q: Do the Poor Souls do things to shorten the Purgatory of their living relatives?

Simma: Yes, they can pray a lot for us, and the Poor Souls have told me that this is often the case.
