PEOPLE who are allowed to go out now find time to refresh their lost strengths in mountainous places which are considered safe to visit amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.

But of course, only a few tourist destinations were allowed by the Department of Tourism to reopen in the Province of Negros Occidental considering that Covid-19 is still a pressing concern in the province and the country.

Some people started to visit hilly destinations that are deemed free from the virus with the observance of the standard health protocols like social distancing, use of a face mask, and the washing and disinfecting of hands as the health authorities and local government units have required.

The Gawahon Eco-Park established by the City Government of Victorias located in Sitio Gawahon, Barangay XI is being prepared in case tourist destinations are declared safe to reopen.

Earlier, Victorias City Administrator Dino Acuña visited Gawahon Eco-Park for an ocular inspection on the pristine waters of the 1st falls with a moth-free pathwalk and garbage-free grass fields. Some trees even have playful monkeys.

Gawahon is a site being considered for the proposed wildlife conservation area of the city. The said eco-park is the home of the seven natural waterfalls that nature lovers and trekkers would love to explore.

Acuña said, "we will fix the concrete slides and reinstall the bridge barrier to make your next visit more enjoyable."

Various facilities and other infrastructure projects are being implemented through the Gawahon Eco-tourism Development Project.

Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca used to bring his foreign guests, especially Japanese to Gawahon Eco-Park who loved to hang around the said area.
