Over P42M worth of illegal drugs seized in separate operations

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested seven persons and seized over P42 million worth of illegal drugs in three separate operations in Quezon City and Malabon on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

At around 1: 45 a.m., Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in coordination with the Quezon City Police District arrested Datu Boy Nasser, Norhana Nasser and Said Ampakay during a drug bust beside a gasoline station along Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Bagong Pag-Asa in Quezon City.

The three suspects yielded P6.8 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu).

In a follow-up operation conducted around 8 a.m. at Rockville Subdivision, San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City, PDEA-NCR agents and the QCPD police arrested Kenneth Pareja Maclan, Dennis Santos Roque, Harold Villasana and Carlito Salazar Biglang-awa who served as the suppliers of the drug suspects arrested earlier.

Confiscated from their possession were several transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing more or less 1.3 kilograms with an estimated street value of P8.840 million, assorted drug paraphernalia, various firearms, and an explosive device and its ingredients.

At around 6:30 p.m. of the same day, PDEA-NCR in coordination with the Northern Police District arrested Tuan Xi Yuan during a drug bust along Road 25, Dampalit, Malabon City which resulted in the seizure of at least four kilograms of shabu valued at P27.2 million.

A case for violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of RA 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the arrested suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
