"HOME is where my plants are," declared Mrs. Hazelyn Guerrero, who has cultivated species of succulent plants with the help and support of her husband Engineer Boy Guerrero, their five offspring and their gardeners.

Earlier, a buffet is normally applied to an assortment of food choices where people love to consume in a one-stop shop.

But in Guerrero farm, one can be amazed to see a buffet of succulent plants well organized by their chief gardener Jun and his wife with the direction and care of Mrs. Hazelyn whose love for ornamental plants including other fruit-bearing plants and vegetable runs in the blood.

It is located at the hilly portion of Sitio Mambucano, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

All species of Cactus can be found on their farm, which they started to develop closed to two decades ago.

Mrs. Guerrero said that growing plants of all sorts started when she was young as they were taught the value of gardening by their grandparents who were also plant lovers.

She said, "We grew in a family where our source of food and vegetables come from our own garden. So anything that we partake comes from our garden. We were used to eating fruits that grew by their own season. And it is all fresh and healthy."

She said that if not for the love of growing this variety of plants, "it will also be quite challenging as gardening itself is strenuous. Sometimes, it's actually backbreaking but then we are also happy if we see them growing."

Engineer Guerrero said they started maintaining their farm as a source of joy to the family because of the panoramic scenery, the cool ambiance, and likewise the opportunity to grow more plants and fruit trees.

People love to come here despite the challenges of going here because they love to see various species of succulents.

Mrs. Guerrero also added that their location is practically near the forest where anything that you sow will truly mature.

Growing plants and maintaining the farm is also essentially therapeutic now that most people go back to gardening as a source of modest joy and fulfillment.

The place is also their family sanctuary which is healthy to stay at both in mind, body, and spirit.

Plant lovers can come and see the buffet of succulents that they cultivated.

"This is my happy place. We keep calm by growing succulents," Mrs. Guerrero said.
