Zamboanga City records another Covid-19 case

THE number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Zamboanga City has increased to 196, as local health authorities reported one new case.

The new confirmed case, tagged as ZC196, is a 20-year-old female from Mampang village, Zamboanga City, according to the local Inter-Agency Task Force Covid-19.

The task force said ZC196 was admitted June 18 in a private hospital due to loose bowel movement (LBM), but went home Tuesday, June 23, against medical advice.

From the hospital, ZC196 went to the place of her in-laws in Sinunuc village.

However, she could not get up Wednesday morning, June 24, due to weakness of lower extremities, prompting her to seek consultation at the Zamboanga City Medical Center. She was subsequently admitted due to potassium deficiency (hypokalemia).

The task force said the patient was swabbed and tested positive for coronavirus, based on the result released Wednesday evening, June 24. (SunStar Zamboanga)
