Antipolo drug suspect yields P6.8M worth of shabu

A DRUG suspect yielded around P6.8 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) during a drug bust in Antipolo City in Rizal Thursday evening, June 25, 2020.

The suspect was identified by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as John Lennon Tadena, 23.

He was arrested in a joint operation conducted by PDEA and Philippine National Police personnel around 9 p.m. in front of a convenience store along NHA Avenue, Bagong Nayon II in Barangay San Isidro.

Recovered from the arrested suspect was more or less one kilogram of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million, three sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves and three sachets of suspected dangerous drugs.

Criminal charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" are being prepared against the suspect. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
