THE fallout from Tab Baldwin's controversial comments from a few weeks ago continued as he was removed from his position as assistant coach and consultant of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) team Talk N Text KaTropa.
Talk N Text management sent a letter to the league's office informing them of this matter last Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
This stunning development comes just a few weeks after Baldwin -- who is also the head coach of the UAAP's Ateneo Blue Eagles and the program director of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) -- made critical comments involving the PBA's tournament format and officiating in a guest appearance of a podcast.
He also riled up Filipino basketball coaches after he described them as "tactically immature."
The PBA has already handed Baldwin a hefty P75,000 fine as well as a three-game suspension for what it deemed as comments that were "detrimental to the league."
However, reports have stated that the move had nothing to do with Baldwin's actions and rather, it was already in the works a long time ago.
Talk N Text team manager Gabby Cui has said the move was made to give Baldwin more time to focus on his responsibilities with the Blue Eagles, which is the reigning three-time UAAP champions and the Gilas Pilipinas. (JNP)
