Zamboanga City records 6 new Covid-19 cases

LOCAL health authorities reported six new cases bringing the total confirmed cases of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Zamboanga City to 202 on June 27, 2020.

The local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) against Covid-19 identified the six new cases as follows: ZC197, 38-year-old female; ZC198, 24-year-old male; ZC199, 45-year-old, female; ZC200, 17-year-old, male; ZC201, 49-year-old female; and, ZC202, 35-year-old male.

The test results of the new cases were released Friday evening, June 26, according to the local IATF.

The task force said the six new cases are the close contacts and with exposure to ZC190, the 68-year-old male from Talon-Talon village.

Casmir Candido, Talon-Talon village chief, said that the six new cases included the relatives of ZC190 and front-liners.

Patient ZC190 was admitted last week at the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) for community-acquired-pneumonia moderate risk.

The task force said that all the six new cases are asymptomatic and that contact tracing is in progress.

The local IATF has urged the public to continue strict compliance of the general community quarantine guidelines specifically, the minimum health standards like wearing a mask, washing of hands and observing physical distancing. (SunStar Zamboanga)
