City employee yields 'shabu' in Calbayog

POLICE arrested a 34-year-old city worker in a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Calbayog City, Samar.

The suspect was identified as Jude Thaddeus Labian, married, high-value individual and an employee at the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Operating units from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Eastern Visayas and Calbayog City Police arrested the suspect at around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, June 25, in Purok 1, Barangay Malopalo, Calbayog.

He was arrested after selling a one-piece heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected “shabu” to an operative who acted as poseur buyer.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession and control were six pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu”, one-piece P500 bill with serial number DX936511 used as buy-bust money, one lighter and two small bond paper, according to a police report.

On-scene inspection was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Neil Montano, officer-in-charge of Calbayog City Police.

The arrested person and the confiscated items were brought to Calbayog City Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Philippines)
