P139-K shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P139,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Saturday.

The operations also led to the arrest of Ruben Palencia, 53, of Barangay Taculing; Reymar Costan, 27, of Barangay Handumanan; Christember Cordova, 23, and July Fritz Diaz, 21, both residents of Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1, all in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Palencia and Costan were arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Purok Sunrise, Barangay Taculing around 11:10 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P35,000, P500 marked money, improvised firearm with 11 live ammunition of .22 caliber, and drug paraphernalia.

Cordova and Diaz were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1 at about 4:30 a.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 13 grams with estimated market value of P104,000, the P500 marked money, P400 cash, and digital weighing scale.

Pic said Cordova was identified as a street level target in the area of Police Station 2 while Diaz was newly identified as a drug personality in Bacolod.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 2 and 6 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 965 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
