Luckily, as Pride Month comes to a close, we’ve been blessed with a rainbow of exciting new queer titles to watch in the coming months. Luckily, all titles on this list except “Love, Victor” are available to watch on Netflix PH. It’s a great way to keep the spirit of Pride going, no?
“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars”
“Drag Race” is the gift that just keeps on giving. Just on the heels of the 12th regular season plus “Secret Celebrity Drag Race,” 10 returning queens sashay back to the Werk Room to compete for their legacy in All Stars 5. This season, however, has a twist: Every week, the challenge winner will have to compete with a secret lip sync assassin—consider us shook!
“Queer Eye”
The Fab Five are back—and they’re in a new city: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fifth season will feature 10 new heroes, making this the show’s biggest season so far. Ahead of the new season’s release, the show has already been renewed for a sixth season. Get your box of tissues ready because we’re in for another emotional ride.
“Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen”
Directed by Sam Feder, this documentary takes an in-depth, up-close look on the experiences of transgender people in Hollywood, how they’ve been portrayed in media and the impact of their stories and visibility on American culture. The film features Laverne Cox, Chaz Bono, Jamie Clayton, Mj Rodriguez, among others.
“Fathers”
Gay couple Phoon and Yuke navigate the woes of parenthood as their adopted child Butr starts to act out and questions about not having a mother in his life. This Thai drama tackles social constructs on child-rearing, struggles of acceptance in society, and gives a glimpse into the political climate of Thailand on same-sex marriage.
“Love, Victor”
A spin-off of the blockbuster coming-of-age title “Love, Simon,” this one follows Victor, a new student in Creekwood High School, who goes through the tribulations of high school, being the new kid and figuring out his own sexuality. The series is narrated by Simon himself, Nick Robinson, who Victor writes to for advice.
