More Benguet Covid-19 patients recover

SIX more patients recovered from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Benguet.

Personnel of Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) conducted a send-off ceremony for patients from Buguias, La Trinidad, Itogon and Sablan who were discharged after receiving negative results for Covid-19.

But despite the six recoveries, a new Covid-19 patient was confirmed by health authorities.

The latest case is a 51-year-old female and farmer with a travel history in Baguio City and La Trinidad.

Over the weekend, a 40-year-old male also tested positive for coronavirus. He was admitted at BeGH and identified as a returning overseas worker (ROF) from Nigeria. He is a native of Atok, Benguet.

The patient is asymptomatic and has not yet gone home to Atok, as he has been staying at the quarantine facility since June 23.

For the confirmed ROF patient, the case is not reflected in the Department of Health-Cordillera report since it was already reflected in the national data and classified as a repatriate and to avoid double reporting of confirmed cases.

On June 25, 11 frontliners in Benguet went home, while a jail officer was sent home June 26 after testing negative for coronavirus.

The jail officer is one of the longest admitted Covid-19 patient, as he stayed in the hospital for 26 days.
