16 NorMin hospital patients test negative for Covid-19

THE Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) has tallied sixteen patients who were admitted over the weekend, all of whom were tested negative for coronavirus disease (Covid-19), medical specialist Dr. Bernard Rocha reported on Monday, June 29, 2020.

On Friday, June 26, two residents from outside Cagayan de Oro were admitted to the NMMC: a 62-year-old female who was diagnosed with pulmonary congestion secondary to chronic kidney disease and a 29-year-old female diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis (high risk).

A total of nine patients were admitted on Saturday, June 27. One of them is a 76-year-old female who was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure secondary to community-acquired pneumonia and heart problems.

While she tested negative, the woman, Rocha said, has died.

A three-month-old female from outside Cagayan de Oro was admitted to the pediatric ward on the same day after she was brought to the hospital due to jaundice and fever.

Admitted to the TB ward is a 32-year-old male from outside Cagayan de Oro, who was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis.

The other patients who were admitted last Saturday were: a 31-year-old male from Barangay Lumbia, this city, who had a chief complaint of cough, comorbidity of stage 2 hypertension and was diagnosed with respiratory tract infection; a 42-year-old female from outside Cagayan de Oro, who was admitted due to community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk), hypertension and complicated urinary tract infection; a 30-year-old female from Barangay Lumbia, this city, who came in the hospital due to body weakness and was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk); a 53-year-old male from Barangay Camaman-an, who was admitted due to community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk) and coronary heart disease; a 45-year-old female from Cagayan de Oro diagnosed with acute respiratory failure, hypertension and diabetes mellitus; and a 60-year-old female from outside Cagayan de Oro who came to NMMC due to shortness of breath and was admitted due to acute respiratory failure and hypertension.

Last Sunday, June 28, five patients, four of whom were from outside Cagayan de Oro, were admitted to the NMMC, Rocha reported.

Non-residents of Cagayan de Oro were an 82-year-old male, who had a chief complaint of shortness of breath and was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis; a 69-year-old female, who was admitted due to community-acquired pneumonia (low risk); a 46-year-old female diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (low risk); and a 54-year-old female, who was admitted due to cerebral vascular disease and stroke with hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

Admitted on the same day is a 53-year-old male from Barangay Carmen, this city, who was admitted due to loss of consciousness. Rocha said he also has a seizure disorder and has had an operation in his brain.
