2 new Covid-19 cases in MisOr are returning OFWs

TWO returning overseas Filipino workers (ROF), who are residents of Claveria, Misamis Oriental, are the province's new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, Provincial Task Force for Covid-19 Chief Dr. Jerie Calingasan reported.

One of the new cases is a 32-year-old male who arrived in Manila on June 17 and who initially tested negative for the virus via RT-PCR testing. He arrived at the Laguindingan Airport on June 23 and was brought to a barangay isolation unit in Claveria on June 24.

He underwent rapid diagnostic testing on June 27 and it yielded a positive result. He was swabbed on June 28 and the result, which came out on June 30, read positive.

The other confirmed case is a 31-year-old male who arrived in Manila on June 21. His RT-PCR test also came out negative in Manila.

He arrived in Claveria on June 28 and was immediately brought to the barangay isolation unit where he went through rapid diagnostic testing and the result read positive. RT-PCR test was taken on the same day and the result, which came out on June 30, yielded positive.

The latest cases bring the number of confirmed cases in Misamis Oriental to 13 and four in Claveria.
