Cops nab 5 'most wanted' persons in Eastern Visayas

AT LEAST five most wanted persons were arrested in separate police operations in Eastern Visayas on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

Police in Palompon, Leyte arrested Georgely Alagdon, 35, who has been ranked number 9-municipal level for the crime of attempted rape.

Judge Mario Quinit of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 17 in Palompon issued the warrant on June 2, 2020, with a recommended bail bond of P120,000.

In Carigara, Leyte, police nabbed a 26-year-old jobless man, the number 10 most wanted person in the municipal level.

Carigara Municipal Police, led Major Jimmy Boy Balasanos, acting chief of police, arrested Roy Digman by virtue of arrest warrant dated January 16, 2020, for the crime of frustrated murder.

Judge Emelinda Maquila of RTC-Branch 13 in Carigara issued the warrant, with a recommended bail bond of P200,000.

Operatives from Mondragon Municipal Police Station led by Chief Master Sergeant Teodorico Falcotelo under supervision of Lieutenant Alkheen Jupurie, officer-in-charge, arrested the number 6 most wanted in the town.

The accused, Joel Malobago, 34, has a warrant of arrest dated October 28, 2009, for frustrated murder.

The warrant was issued by Judge Alma Consuelo Esidera of RTC-Branch 20 in Catarman, Northern Samar, with a recommended bail bond of P200,000.

In Maslog, Eastern Samar, police arrested 29-year-old farmer Romnick Rebato, the number 1 most wanted person - station level.

Maslog Municipal Police led by Lieutenant Arvin Norona, officer-in-charge, arrested Rebato by virtue of a warrant dated June 11, 2020, for the crime of rape.

Judge Renato Noel Echague of RTC-Branch 4 in Dolores, Eastern Samar issued the warrant of arrest, without a recommended bail bond.

In Matuguinao, Samar, police arrested Jhun Diaz, 44, number 3 most wanted-municipal level for murder, homicide, and frustrated murder.

Diaz has arrest warrants dated May 28, 2019, January 30, 2019, and November 18, 2016 for the said crimes.

Judge Tarcelo Sabarre of RTC-Branch 41 in Gandara, Samar issued the warrant for murder, with no recommended bail bond, and for homicide, with a recommended bail bond of P120,000.

For frustrated murder, Judge Feliciano Aguilar of RTC-Branch 41 issued the warrant, with a recommended bail bond of P200,000.

The operation was conducted by Matuguinao Municipal Police led by Lieutenant Joan Galing Brozas, officer-in-charge, under the supervision of Colonel Andre Dizon, provincial director of the Samar Provincial Police Office. (SunStar Philippines)
