Eastern Visayas logs 15 fresh Covid-19 cases, 321 more recoveries

EASTERN Visayas recorded 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and 321 recoveries, as of Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center released a total of 590 swab sample results, with 573 negative results on Wednesday evening.

Included in the negative results are the samples of 10 medical workers from Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center and 30 employees from the Department of Health in the region.

Two re-swab results of Patient EV-54 from Pastrana, Leyte and EV-346 from Villareal, Samar yielded positive results.

The 15 new cases will be tagged as patients EV-533 to EV-547, according to Dr. Minerva Molon, health regional director.

The new cases are from Carigara, Leyte (1); Villaba, Leyte (1); Julita, Leyte (1); San Francisco, Southern Leyte (1); Pintuyan, Southern Leyte (1); Silago, Southern Leyte (4); Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte (2); Caibiran, Biliran (1); Calbayog City, Samar (2); and Motiong, Samar (1).

Meanwhile, Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory released a total of 56 results, which are negative for Covid-19.

As of July 1, Eastern Visayas has a total of 547 Covid-19 cases, with three deaths. (SunStar Philippines)
