75-year-old 'most wanted,' 2 others nabbed in Eastern Visayas

AT LEAST three wanted persons, including a 75-year-old man, were arrested in separate police operations in Eastern Visayas Thursday, July 2, 2020.

Accused, Quirino Tagailo, 75, and rank number 2 most wanted of Hinundayan Municipal Police was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Thursday for illegal possession of deadly weapon and direct assault.

Hinundayan Municipal Police led by Captain Ryan Jill Merquita, acting chief of police, arrested Tagailo by virtue of a warrant dated June 3, 2020, issued by Judge Judy Ramos Navarrosa of 5th Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Anahawan, with recommended bail bond of P3,000 for illegal possession of deadly weapon and P12,000 for direct assault.

In Quinapondan, Eastern Samar, police arrested a 49-year-old wanted person identified as Crisanto Jadion.

Quinapondan Municipal Police headed by Lieutenant Ruben Macawile and 2nd Eastern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (ESPMFC) led by Lieutenant Colonel Alex Dang-aoen arrested Jadion by virtue of arrest warrant dated May 20, 2020, for acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The warrant was issued by Judge Angelo M. Raagas of the Regional Trial Court (RTC)- Branch 42 in Balangiga, Eastern Samar, with recommended bail of P160,000.

Police in San Miguel, Leyte also arrested the rank number 4 most wanted person in the municipality.

Accused, Celso Balais, 50, was nabbed by virtue of arrest warrant dated May 15, 2020, for murder.

Judge Lauro A. Castillo Jr. of RTC-Branch 36 in Carigara, Leyte issued the warrant, with no bail recommended.

The arrest was made by San Miguel Municipal Police led by Captain James Gervacio, Leyte Provincial Police Office-PIB headed by Lieutenant Colonel Demosthenes Magnaan, and PIT-Leyte RIU8 led by Lieutenant Rolan Maceda.

All the arrested persons were brought to their respective municipal police stations for documentation prior to turn over to the court of origin. (SunStar Philippines)
