7 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro are LSIs

ANOTHER seven locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Luzon are the latest coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro, City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported on Friday, July 3.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in the city to 56.

According to Retuya, all of the LSIs were immediately brought to the city isolation unit upon arrival in Cagayan de Oro and are, at present, asymptomatic.

The 50th case is a 27-year-old female LSI from Puerto Galera, Mindoro and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 22 with a fever and was treated by the Patient Management and Monitoring Team.

Retuya said the now asymptomatic woman recently gave birth and both are staying at the city isolation unit.

The 51st case is a 28-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Carmen. She is asymptomatic at present and is due to be transferred from the city isolation unit to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF).

The 52nd case is a 23-year-old male LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Puerto. The asymptomatic man arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 22.

The 53rd case is a 45-year-old male LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Tablon. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 22.

He is due to be transferred from the city isolation unit to the TTMF.

The 54th case is a 29-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 25. She is also due to be transferred from the city isolation unit to the TTMF.

The 55th case is a 42-year-old male LSI from Valenzuela City and a resident of Barangay Lapasan.

According to Retuya, the man is a construction worker who was stranded in the aforementioned city while he was processing his documents to go abroad.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 24 via sea travel. He is due to be transferred from the city isolation unit to the TTMF.

The 56th case is a 41-year-old female LSI from Valenzuela City and a resident of Barangay Balubal. She underwent rapid diagnostic testing in Manila on June 5 and the result came out negative.

She arrived in Cagayan de Oro on June 21. She is also due to be transferred from the city isolation unit to the TTMF.

As of July 2, Northern Mindanao registered a total of 165 Covid-19 confirmed cases, according to the Department of Health Center for Health Development-Northern Mindanao (DOH-CHDNM).

The DOH-CHDNM recorded eight new confirmed cases in Cagayan de Oro City.

Retuya said the eighth new case is a government employee who is an Authorized Person Outside Residence deployed in Cagayan de Oro.

The government employee, who is a resident of San Mateo, Rizal, is asymptomatic and staying in the city isolation unit at present.
